Claudia Timbo awarded the 2012 Circle of Excellence Award for Serial Entrepreneurship by Smart CEO Magazine
Reminiscent of her success in the Philly 100 in 2007, Claudia Timbo was once again honored as a top CEO in business, this time with Smart CEO. At their Circle of Excellence gala, on Thursday, October 4th, Claudia claimed the award for Serial Entrepreneur. She stood out posing for a picture with her fellow winners, nine men who had captured the other top spots in the 2012 Circle of Excellence categories. And just like in 2007, as the 3rd fastest growing company in Philadelphia, Claudia was the only female on stage to make the top 10. “It is an extraordinary honor”, says Timbo, “To carve out a place for women business owners in these award programs.”
The nomination was entered by Mary Scheetz, CEO of Consulting Concepts & Innovations, one of the investors in CompanyVoice which boasts 74% women ownership. At the heart of the serial entrepreneur write up was Claudia’s uncanny ability to surround herself with capable business people who each bring a unique and valuable skill to the team making each consecutive business that much better. This time around, Timbo smartly seized the strategic advantage of being women owned which positions CompanyVoice to prime or sub-contract government RFPs which value minority and women representation on the project.
CompanyVoice has already been successful in helping one client win a City of Philadelphia RFP and is awaiting word on the awarding of another RFP. In each, CompanyVoice serves as a sub-contractor bringing the female leadership and the experience gained from all five contact centers Claudia has run in the past 30 years. During her acceptance speech for Circle of Excellence, Claudia acknowledged the support she received over the years from her loyal investors and a fabulous group of female CEOs who have become her newest inner circle. Claudia met many of these business women during her two years of community service in between opening companies and their coming on board to invest in CompanyVoice qualified the firm to certify as women owned.
