Call Center Executive Wins Individual Spirit of Philanthropy Award

During the 2013 PACE Annual Convention and Expo, Sunny Beth White was named the PACE Individual Spirit of Philanthropy Award winner. Founded in 1983, the Professional Association for Customer Engagement (PACE) represents more than 4,000 contact centers that account for over 1.8 million professionals worldwide. PACE is proud of its philanthropic initiative, Call Centers CARE, in which PACE members come together to make a difference in their local communities. The Spirit of Philanthropy award is given to a member who exemplifies the spirit of philanthropy by inspiring his/her company/chapter to commitment and involvement in the community through contributions of service, time, leadership and/or monetary donations.

In 2008, Sunny became a member at large of PACE, formerly know at ATA, American Telemarketing Association. She was invited to the board in October of 2009 and took a leadership stance in community outreach. She made great strides engaging member involvement in regularly scheduled events with the charge to members, “This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and distinguish your firm as a caring corporate citizen. We thank you in advance for your time, and your ongoing interest in making our chapter Successful!” Sunny took on the role of co-VP for Outreach and Marketing in 2011 and has led her chapter to numerous events helping the local food banks, soup kitchens, children’s groups and currently raising money for donations to the March of Dimes.

Fellow PACE board member Mike Lanzy supported Sunny’s nomination and describes her as energetic and diligent about all aspects of business. He cites her passion to help others as instrumental in finding new and different ways for their PACE Mid-Atlantic Chapter to do their share and give back with philanthropic events. Valerie Schlitt, PACE member and CompanyVoice board member, endorsed Sunny’s nomination and gave testament to her tireless efforts to obtain a wealth of information about so many local diverse philanthropic opportunities, keeping PACE members involved, engaged and enthused. She states, “Sunny lives and breathes service.”

Sunny grew up in the call center industry, starting her first internship at age 14 at Procall Teleservices, which was run by her mother, Claudia Timbo. Sunny continued to work summers in call centers throughout high school and college and joined Corporate Call Center in 2009 as a full-time manager. She rotated through the integral departments of Licensing, Compliance, Human Resources and Sales. Those around her have had the pleasure of watching Sunny develop from a college student to a fully contributing Corporate Citizen and Call Center Executive.  In 2010, Sunny earned a Master of Business Administration in international marketing from St. Joseph’s University.  With extensive start-up experience under her belt, Sunny continues to grow her leadership ability both in the community and at CompanyVoice, a start-up contact center in Bluebell, Pa.

Sunny is honored by this recognition for leading others in community service and has the full support of CompanyVoice, a PACE member, in continuing the growth of philanthropy for PACE’s Mid-Atlantic Chapter.
